A bit about Beth...

I am a PYP Coordinator, experienced PYP teacher, Exhibition facilitator, and inquiry learner focused on developing children holistically with an understanding of why learning matters. I am motivated by the belief that all students are unique and able to succeed, and that it is our job to provide the support, tools, and skills necessary for them to construct their own understandings. My professional "backward-by-design" is driven by the idea that we are developing today's leaders who are inspired by yesterday and ready for tomorrow.

My role includes coaching, mentoring, and learning beside teachers to re-think inquiry and map curriculum that best meets our students' and school's needs. I build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to develop our whole-school programme and meet the goals on our action plan.

I am currently based in Seoul, South Korea. I am part of a highly motivated and dedicated team of people are truly passionate about education. Together, we learn about learning, teach each other as well as our students, and collaboratively reflect and revise for best practice.

Outside of education, I love hiking, reading, traveling to places I never knew I wanted to go before, and enjoying time with friends and family. I love learning the language and eating the food of wherever I am living, so I have a big hotpot of nouns, verbs, and kimchi stewing in me right now.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or collaborative ventures you would like to share.

Beth Overby

PYP Coordinator

Hello! My name is Beth Overby, and I originate from North Carolina, USA. I have a passion for education, particularly in building and mapping inquiry-based curriculum. I come from a family of teachers, so despite my initial defiance, my love of teaching and learning was destined to be! In my free time, you can find me hiking or trying all the cuisine that Seoul has to offer. Please contact me with any and all collaborations, thoughts, and questions!
